The process:
The foundation for this piece had been done for about a year, but it wasn’t time to finish it.
Once the foundation was laid, I was frustrated with it. I could tell the piece and I needed more time.
So, I allowed it to sit & be in my closet beneath the stairs.
One night, I pulled it out - Is it time to finish it?
Almost.
I walked by it another day or two, then it hit me -
It’s time!
Sometimes, we need to step back and allow things to just be.

Process:
I painted this one after I painted my very first giraffe which I still have in my personal collection. It was important to me to stick to my usual color scheme, as I wanted to show a strong connection with my first giraffe, “Uma” who I consider as the “mother” to every giraffe piece in my painted tower.
It was important to me to give him a “baby face” - it was a way to symbolize me continuing on and starting a “new generation” of giraffes.
It was with this piece I showed myself I could create another giraffe.
